With so many changes this summer at my house it is difficult to see what are leaps of faith and what are acts of desperation. Everything around us right now seems like it takes a leap of faith. Two children getting married. One moving across the country. One moving to Africa...yikes!! That one is really requiring faith on my part that all will be well.
I have a dear friend who recently decided to move across the US as some needs in her family had changed. It did not come easily once the decision was made. She had to divest herself of many of her possessions in order to be able to afford the moving expenses. She chose a new place on the internet, taking it sight unseen. When is came time to fill the moving van the skies opened up and dumped, I mean poured...rain. On the trip out the windshield was broken by a flying rock. But they finally arrived and love their new place. Each day is getting better.
So it can be for us. We decide, plan, anticipate and try as best we can to foresee any challenges only to find there are many we missed. Would we go back if we had known? Sometimes we feel that way. But what is gained in giving up right? There is something so rewarding in taking a chance, even if it was calculated and having it turn out well.
So if you felt it was worth it, don't give in just because you hit a few roadblocks. Stay the course and see what new things unfold.
